As part of Canoe England’s National Go Canoeing week Chiswick Pier Canoe Club is offering FREE canoeing this Easter Sunday
Every Sunday at Chiswick Pier, all year round, Chiswick Pier Canoe Club runs an outing on the Thames at Chiswick using a wide range of kayaks and open canoes.
The event will follow the usual format: they will get kitted-up from about 9.30am with the intention of being on the water and underway soon after 10.30. They will paddle for about an hour and a half, take a refreshment break and then return to Chiswick Pier. The Club takes advantage of the tide to make the return leg of our trips easier and faster, so we should be back soon after 1pm.
Our outings on the Thames at Chiswick are designed for adults (indeed, we have no upper age limit), teenagers aged 14+ are welcome to accompany their parents.

No prior experience is required: coaches will be on hand to help with
instruction and to ensure everyone has a safe outing.
It will be a relaxed outing, so you don’t have to be super fit, however a
reasonable level of fitness is obviously required; and – of course – we need
everyone to be able to swim 25 metres comfortably in light clothing.
The Canoe Club will provide all the specialist equipment required: you simply
need comfortable layers suitable for the weather on the day. It’s important to
wear footwear (such as old trainers) which you don’t mind getting wet (there’s
often some water slopping about in a boat). For the same reason, a change of
dry clothing for afterwards is desirable.
Numbers for this event will be limited by the availability of boats & equipment
and the number of qualified coaches.
People will be accepted on a strictly “first come, first served” basis: so if you
want try kayaking on the Thames get there early!
The Club is based at The Pier House, Corney Reach Way, London W4 2UG
